What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is a powerful, natural and safe state of directed awareness. A kind of relaxed concetration that we all experience from time to time, rather like those times when we drift into a daydream and become naturally absorbed by it.


We are all familiar with the idea that the way that we think can cause ourselves problems. We have probably said of friends or relatives that, "the problems mostly in her head", or "he's thinking himself into it". Hypnotherapy is using the very same abilitiess in a constructive way. After all, it would seem logical that if someone could 'think themselves into' a problem, that they should be able to 'think themselves out' of a problem.


Hypnosis allows us direct access to the unconscious more instinctive part of our minds so that we can respectfully work to achieve the goals we want.


Hypnosis Myths

  • Probably one of the most important points to make clear right at the beginning is that the client is always in control.

  • Hypnotherapy is a completely safe procedure and anyone of average intelligence who is willing to follow instructions can be hypnotised.

  • There is absolutely no record of anyone ever becoming ‘stuck in trance’.

  • You never lose consciousness during hypnosis and your moral and ethical awareness is still active, so you can’t be made to say or do anything against your will.

More and  more research is producing evidence that supports the scientific basis for Hypnosis as a powerful and safe therapeutic tool. Hypnotherapy is a very effective way of helping many problems. Hypnotherapy is excellent for areas concerned with habit control, such as :
